* Salida Wine Bar Opening, beginning (and throughout the weekend) Friday, April 19th. By Invitation only. Best to be on the mailing list or even better, a wine club member. We’re anticipating a weekend we’ll all remember.
* The Seattle Symphony Board of Directors has invited Salida Wines for their annual meeting, held at Dale Chihuly’s Boathouse on Wednesday, April 24th. My deepest thanks to Ron Merlino (AKA Music Vine) of The Big Apple, who made this opportunity, and to Simon Woods, Exec of the Symphony, for his generous offer. It’s quite an honor.
* Revelry at the Barking Frog with AIWF. Sunday, April 28th, the American Institute of Wine and Food, founded by Julia Chiles and Robert Mondavi, will gather for a night of “Big Reds.” Some of my best cohorts in wine crime will be there. We’ll bring Fuego Sagrado. Amen.
* Down The Road. We’re late somewhat for our next Open House. Life’s stuff. We plan to make Saturday, June 15th the day when we’ll release our new ‘fragrant bomb’, the 2012 Albarino, and the 2010 ‘Vino Rojo,’ held back intentionally for over one year. A heady summer red to pair with the grill. There’ll be a surprise wine too. More later on the OH.
